Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info: your email (for sign-in and delivering licenses).
• License info: license keys, activated device count and last-active time.
• Usage records: request time, character counts, content hashes, model and credits consumed.We never store your selections or the explanation text.

2. What we don't collect

• We don't store your selected text or the explanations.
• We don't upload your local history.
• We don't request screen recording, contacts or location permissions.

3. Why text is sent to the AI model

Generating an explanation requires sending the selection and its context to the model. We send only what's necessary and keep no text on our servers. If the model provider offers a zero-retention option, we will enable it and note it here.

4. Local data

History and settings stay on your Mac (Application Support and Keychain). API keys and device credentials are written only to the system keychain.

5. Third-party services

• Creem: payments and tax handling (as merchant of record).
• AI model providers: to generate explanations.
• Cloudflare: hosting for this site and its APIs.

6. Retention & deletion

Usage records are kept for 90 days for self-auditing and reconciliation; after a deletion request, server-side data is fully purged within 30 days. You can delete your account yourself in the app.
